Is this the right platform to share your political beliefs?

I am amazed that the number of blog posts on AR regarding the presidential campaigns of John McCain and Barack Obama.  I understand that this is a great format where people can truly speak their minds, but is it really a good idea to broadcast your political beliefs like this?  I mean, I am just as happy to sell a home to a John McCain supporter as I am to a Barack Obama supporter.  I don't mean to discount the importance of this election.  I have very strong beliefs about who I am going to vote for and why.  I just really would hate to alienate a potential customer who happens to disagree with my politics.  Shouldn't the laws of a first date apply to blogging?  Never discuss politics or religion?

Cheers,

Brendan

Brendan, I've been surprised at the tone of a lot of the posts and comments here on Active Rain.  When it comes to politics, you need a good brain to keyboard filter mechanism if you're going to get into the political thing.

Brendan, I don't have a problem with the political post but personally I think that is why there is a public side and a members only side.  I think they should be on the members only side.  I like hearing the different points of view around the country.  Now when the people start getting not nice I don't like that.

ABSOLUTELY NOT!  TAKE YOUR POLITICS SOMEWHERE OTHER THAN AR!  I will not even respond to any of them because what if I feel a different way from a prospective client, do I not want to have that client contact me because of my personal beliefs?

Give please. Humor is the only test of gravity, and gravity of humor; for a subject which will not bear raillery is suspicious, and a jest which will not bear serious examination is false wit. I am from Burkina and too bad know English, please tell me right I wrote the following sentence: "Cash advance loans provide people some extra short term cash in between paychecks without having to lay themselves open to revolving debt." Best regards :), Oriana.
